Kenyataan Akhbar: Cadangan Bajet 2010 Sebagai Peluang Menangani Ancaman Perhubungan Dua-Hala Malaysia-Indonesia

Press Release: Budget 2010 Proposal As A Means To Address Future Threat To  Malaysia-Indonesia Relations

Malaysian Association of Youth Clubs, MAYC, today welcomes the invitation by Datuk Seri Najib Tun Abdul Razak for Malaysians to share ideas towards the Budget 2011. According to its President, Akhramsyah Sanusi, MAYC is planning to respond with a paper entitled “Projecting Ideas Towards Aspirations Of 2020 Youths”. MAYC is also ready to collaborate with government agencies or other NGOs, especially the Malaysian Youth Council (MBM) and its other fellow affiliates, in any effort to enhance the contribution of Youths towards the preparation of Budget 2011.

As an early proposal, MAYC would like to recommend that a fund be established under the joint auspices of the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Foreign Ministry to develop the relationship between Youths among ASEAN nations. Such a fund would better enable the engagement through the exchange of views and the sharing of experiences between organized Youths in Malaysia with their counterparts across ASEAN nations. Such efforts would in turn lead to the curbing of rise of such extremist organizations such as the People’s Bastion of Democracy (Bendera) that are a new threat to the harmonious relationship between ASEAN nations.

Efforts to improve the relationship between leaders, movers, activists and members of Youth organizations themselves through joint activities and frequent ‘neighbourly visits’ may require some funding. However, it is results in a stronger cross-border relationships between Youths, it will not only lead to future generations avoiding such negative incidents as what occurred at the Malaysian Embassy in Jakarta recently from repeating itself, but would also yield positive cooperation in the social, economic, technology, education or even political arenas between the nations of ASEAN in future.

MAYC hopes proposals such as for the said fund would be considered as a long term investment to enable Youths to participate in shaping a more harmonious future for Malaysia under the aspired vision of 1ASEAN.
